Bio

Ahmet ONCU was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He received the B.S. degree in Physics and the B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey, in 2001 and 2002, respectively. He received the M.S. degree in Microwave Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, in 2004. He received the PhD degree in Frontier Sciences from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2008. After his PhD graduation, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo and Hiroshima Universities. In 2010, he returned back to his hometown and joined at Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department Bogazici University in 2010. Currently he is working as an Associate Professor.

His research interests are in designs of Microwave, RF and sensor systems, computation for electromagnetics, and AI applications. He is the founder of Microwave Radar and Communication Laboratory at Bogazici University.

Bio

I'm doing my PhD at Boğaziçi University where I'm also a Research and Teaching Assistant. I've got my B.Sc degree from Istanbul Technical University and M.Sc from Boğaziçi University. I mostly teach electronics and RF classes and enjoy myself while doing so. I've had several years of industry experience as well but focusing on my PhD at MiRaCL.  My current studied are about reconfigurable lightweight transceiver systems as well as radar imaging. I enjoy watching snooker and playing some video games in my free time.

I just got my B.Sc. degree at BOUN EE'19 and I will continue with M.Sc study in Electronics here as well. My main research interests are digital design, FPGAs and embedded software. I assist the projects in these areas at MiRaCL. Lately, Machine Learning caught my attention and I want to advance in this topic as well. I spend my free time in musical activities and video games.

I am a senior student in BOUN EE'15. At the same time, I'm making a double major at physics.  I will probably graduate in the spring semester of 2020 without further semester. In the internships and researches I have experienced before, I have been designing RF circuit elements and I continue to work on this subject. Even though the final project that I will make in the last year is not certain yet, we are planning to continue on the directional bridge coupler that we are working on, but even if it is not, I think of designing another RF element and finishing it. I like to read books in my free time.

Hi,
I am Serhat Tadik. I am a junior student in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering in Boğaziçi University. I also double major in Physics. I am planning to graduate in 2021. I am working on vector network analysis, specifically on the design of directional couplers in Miracl Laboratory. Recently, I have completed my internship on Laser and Optical Engineering under the Professorship of Environmental Sensing and Modeling in Technical University of Munich. Thus, I am planning to choose an interdisciplinar thesis topic that includes parts from both electronics and physics. Apart from doing research and continuing my education, I like cycling, playing table tennis and brisk walking. Furthermore, I strive for some kind of social entrepreneurship. For instance, I took part in the board of The Student Council in our department last year. Also, I have been a board member and treasurer in one of the student clubs in our university for a period of time. I do my best for being present in every field of life.

Hi,
I am Ahmet Günhan Aydın. I am a senior student in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Boğaziçi University. Because I am planning to go to Singapore through the exchange program in spring 2020, I guess I am going to graduate in 2021. I wish to improve myself in signals and communication technologies, especially in radar systems. I am working on FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar systems and designing a useful graphical user interface for radar researchers in Miracl Laboratory. Besides, as an intern at a private company, I have worked on identifying antenna scan types and extracting important features from incoming radar data for radar electronic defense systems. Also, in the field of electronics, transistors, microchip systems and integrated circuit design are several of the attractive areas to me.In addition, I am an active member of the Boun Airbenders drone team in which we develop new techniques for our drones for upcoming contests. Beside these, I like going to the theatre, watching movies and reading absorbing novels. As an undergraduate, I have tried to engage in and focus on course load, academic projects and extracurricular activities as evenly as possible.

I am a student at BOUN EE'18; however, I am avid in progressing my computer skills. I have put significant effort to enhance myself in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data structures and algorithms, parallel processing, and quantum programming. Also, I have to admit that I have advanced Object Oriented Programming skills. Furthermore, I am working on Parallel Processing to increase the speed of arithmetic/algorithmic problems along with contributions on some researches in Miracl Laboratory. I am planning to be a participant in the ICPC contest; therefore, I am studying on algorithm problems in my free time.

Hi,
I am Özgür Kara, student at Boğazici University EE'18. I will probably graduate in 2022 spring semester. I want to improve my skills on artificial intelligence, especially on deep learning. I was a member of Airbenders drone team in 2019. I am trying to make projects on artifical intelligence and participating contests. Besides, i am working on algorithmic problems to improve my point of view to the problems. I spend my free time with cycling, playing table tennis and swimmimg.
